Kindness Makes the World Go Around

kbrowne61

Kindness is what makes the world go around. Doing little acts of kindness for people can brighten even their darkest days. The bible even mentions kindness in the scripture Galatians 5:22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law” (ESV). There is no law to punish us for showing someone a little kindness. In fact, kindness should be encouraged and be passed down to the next person that you see. Acts of kindness can range from the simple things, such as giving the person a hand with carrying their groceries to their car or making a person laugh, to the extreme, such as donating thousands of dollars to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

An act of kindness will go a long way. It will be forever imprinted in their mind. Dolphene is one of the contributors of It’s My Testimony: A Devotional Journal for Women by Women that discusses kindness in her testimony. An example of kindness that she mentions is when she went through a drive-thru and the person ahead of her paid for her order. Dolphene says, “I’ve read that kindness begets kindness, and that no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted” (p. 95). The simple act of kindness did not go unnoticed by Dolphene and she tries to live by that stranger’s example. She tries to share kindness wherever she goes. That is the aspiration that the whole world should live by. If we all did, then the world would become a better place.

If you want to read more about Dolphene’s kindness or kindness in general, then you can buy the book It’s My Testimony: A Devotional Journal for Women by Women at Amazon. Ten percent of the earnings will go to the Genesis Women’s Shelter.
