Jeremiah 29:11: Hope and a Future

kbrowne61

A year ago, we were able to hang out with our friends, spend time at family gatherings, and go to our favorite spots. Go to the movies without fear of germs. Eat at restaurants without social distancing. Go to the store without having to wear face masks. Our future seemed bright, but now it seems dull. COVID-19 has ruined some people’s hope for the future. Some people are living day by day. They are scared and worried, but Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us that God has promised us hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “ ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’ ” (New International Version). Hope for our future is what we need. We need to stay positive and hang on to our faith if we want to get through this difficult time. We need to stay optimistic and pray that this virus will pass shortly. We hope and pray that our doctors will be the hands of God and save those who are sick. We hope and pray that we will be able to have a better future, the future that God has promised us.

It’s My Testimony: A Devotional Journal for Women by Women is a devotional journal that consists of thirty-one essays, which was written by thirty different women. These women have gone through hard times and have overcome them. Maybe having a read of this book will restore the hope of a future. Ten percent of the proceeds will go to the Genesis Women’s Shelter in Dallas, Texas. We are all in this together and reading the testimonies that these ladies wrote will help the shelter and bless you also.
